Taste of Mequon – September 13

The second annual admission free Taste of Mequon will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from noon to 9:00 p.m. Taste of Mequon will be located at 11333 North Cedarburg Road, Mequon, which is just north of Mequon Road.
Live entertainment is scheduled throughout the event. As of September 5th, Sir Pinkerton Juggler-Magician 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. with the musical line-up of Night Wing noon to 2:30 p.m., Mark Croft 3:00 to 5:30 p.m., and Lovin’ Kind 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Activities for children are scheduled to take place from noon to 5:00 p.m. For a list of the activities and times go to the City of Mequon ebsite and click on the link.
A variety of food items will be available to tempt those attending. The food vendors as of September 5th are The Burg [Kalua Tiki Bar], Café 1505, Café Hollander, Chancery Pub and Restaurant, The Cheel, Fiddleheads Coffee Cafe, First Watch, Fresh Healthy Eatery and Juice Bar, Harvey’s Central Grille, Joey Gerard’s , Leonardo’s Pizza, Prime Minister Family Restaurant, The Ruby Tap, Smokin’ Joe’s BBQ, Thiensville-Mequon Lion’s Club, Thiensville Village Market, and Yellow Bellies.
In addition to the live entertainment and food, attendees will also be able to see the work of a number of artists whose mediums include wood, glass, and beads. The artists will show their art from Noon to 6:00 p.m.
The artists participating in Taste of Mequon are David Fliss – Caricature; Robert Holmes – Wood turned items; Lynn Carmody – Glass garden art; Mary Spencer Glass – Mosaic fused glass; Michele Darling – Jewelry; Jodi Marcus – Vintage art work; Tara Zimmerer – Vintage jewelry; Kent Wittmann – Photography; Kandy Gibson – Pottery; Sue Madden – Beaded and wired gift ware; Chef Felisha Wild – Handcrafted wood products; Meg Najera-Hand-lettered art; Kyle Zubatsky – Art boutique display; and Jane Kraemer – Art boutique display.
Other participants include The Spice and Tea Exchange; Supercuts of Mequon, Thiensville Business Association, Jonathan Clark House Museum, The Logemann Community Center, Meqwuon-Thiensville Chamber of Commerce, Mequon-Thiensville Historical Society, and Ronald McDonald House.
From 9:00 a.m. to the end of the event Cedarburg Road will be closed between Mequon Road and Division Street. Traffic traveling North on Cedarburg Road, will be diverted at Mequon Road, West to Buntrock Avenue, then North to Division Street and East to Main Street. Traffic traveling South on Cedarburg Road (Main Street) will be diverted at Division Street, West to Buntrock Avenue, and South to Mequon Road and East to Cedarburg Road.
